Becca's Tamira |
Tamira's dam is One Oak Hill Payne Talpa. Payne Talpa is a very stylish doe who is very well balanced and strong in general appearance. She is also a very dairy doe with a long, lean neck and openness in ribbing. Her mammary is high and wide in the rear, with a smoothly blended fore udder & a very nice udder shape. In 2000, Payne Talpa was the 2nd Place 4 year old at the ADGA National Show. As a yearling milker in 2007, Tamira was beginning to show us a nice udder to go along with her long, lean neck (like her dam) & overall nice general appearance. However, Tamira's 2007 had an unfortunate twist when she fell victim to a spider bite on one of her teats. Thankfully, our veterinarian treated the bite very aggressively & was able to save the teat & we believe Tamira will only have some minor scar tissue as a result, but only 2008 will tell us for sure. 2007 was not a total loss for Tamira, as she did produce a beautiful daughter, "Miss Expectation" who was the 5th place Jr. Kid at ADGA Nationals held in Gillette, Wyoming. Tamira also produced a very nice buck, Cruz Control, who we have retained and will use on a few young does during this years breeding season. Though unable to show Tamira in 2007 due to her spider bite, she was shown as a kid in 2006 and was the Best Jr. Doe in Show in one ring and Grand Champion in the other. Tamira's sire is Becca's Prince Albert , a son of Dagron Taipei's Toronto. |
Note: This is an unclipped photo taken during Tamira's spider bite recovery period. |
2008 Update: Tamira did not kid until June 1, but had two nice looking kids--Miss Behavin & J.B. Buckardi. We thought Miss Behavin was so cute that we featured her in our web page heading shown above top left. Also, Miss Behavin was the Reserve Grand Champion at the Texas-Oklahoma Fair & the District VI LaMancha Specialty held Sept. 2008 in Wichita Falls, TX |
